1. The curriculum contains less than 3 innovative courses.
2. There is no academic regulations in the students’ handbook.
3. 78.57% of the staff have PhD.
4. Only 64.29% of teaching staff benefitted from the staff development programme.
5.Only 33.33% of non-teaching staff benefitted from the staff development programme.
6. There is no internet facility in the econometrics laboratory.
7. Equipment and furniture in the classroom are not well maintained.

 

1. The university should be advised to include at least four additional innovative courses to the programme.
2. Academic regulations should be well publicized and adhered to.
3. The University should be advised to ensure that all teaching staff have PhD.
4. The university should be advised to ensure that all teaching staff benefit from the staff development programme.
5. The university should be advised to ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development programme.
6. Internet facility should be provided for the econometric laboratory to ensure functionality.
7. Equipment and furniture in the classroom should be properly maintained.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.17%. It scored 26 (81.25%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
