REMEDIES

1. There are less than four (4) innovative courses in the curriculum. CHM 352 (Histopathology and Forensic Medicine), and MAN 303 (Management Information System) are the only innovative courses in the curriculum.

2. 44.7% of the teaching staff does not have the PhD degree.

3. All the non-academic staff have not benefited from the Staff Development Programme.

4. The Library subscribes to only one (1) active database EBSCOHOST

5. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses in the curriculum without exceeding maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure that all teaching staff acquires the PhD degree.

3. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from the staff development programme.

4. The university should subscribe to at least two (2) relevant databases for the programme.

5. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 82.35%. It scored 30 (90.91%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (71.43%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
