1. 56% of the Non- Teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme.

2. The following equipment were not available in the following Laboratories:-

1. Foundry and Heat Treatment Laboratory-
a. Die Sinking Machine
b. Die Casting Machine
c. Oil Fired tilting Furnace.

11. Metrology Laboratory-

a. Surface Measuring Instrument
b. Interferometer.
c. Optical Pyrometer
d. Micro-Optic Auto Collimator
e. Optical Flats
f. X-Y Plotters and
g. Universal Measuring Machine.

3. Library Books and Journals are Inadequate in number and currency for the programme.

4. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that all Staff benefit from staff Development Programme.

2.The University should procure equipment’s in the Foundry and Metrology Laboratories.

3. More current books and Journals should be procured for the programme.

4. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 94.40%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
