1) No dedicated lecture rooms for the department.

2) The staff mix by rank is top heavy.

3) There is inadequate number of non-teaching staff.

4) None of the non-teaching staff have benefited from the staff development programme in the last three years.

5) There no dedicated classrooms and no smart board for the programme.
6) Staff offices are ill-equipped in terms office furniture.

7) Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1) The University should provide dedicated lecture rooms for the department.
2) The University should employ more lecturers at the lower level cadre.
3) The University should employ more non-teaching staff at lower level cadre.
4) The University ensure that all the non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development.
5) the University should provide dedicated classrooms and smart boards for the department.
6) The University should ensure that staff offices are well equipped with the right furniture befitting each staff; such file cabinet, television, desk top/laptops, freezers, bookshelves, computers, convenience, etc.
7) Finding for the programme should be improved.

 

The total score for the programme is 72.80%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 7 (25.93%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
