REMEDIES

1. The curriculum contains less than four innovative courses.

2. The test and examination cover the curriculum but are not on good standard.

3. Practicals work not conducted.

4. Both hard and soft skills acquisition relevant to the programme cannot be ascertain on the sample of student test.

5. Non-teaching staff are inadequate in number.

6. Dedicated Laboratory for Environment Health Science, Demonstration site/village are not available and museum was poorly equipped

7. Furniture in the classrooms are not well maintained.

8. All academic staff offices including professorial offices do not have built-in convenience.

9. Library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

10. Access to available e-books and e-journals for staff and student is available only to campus hotspots and intranet.

11. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should ensure that test and examination are of god standard.

3. The University should ensure that Practicals work are conducted to cover the curriculum.

4. The University should ensure that all students of the programme acquired relevant hard and soft skills

5. More non-teaching staff should be employed for the programme

6. All essential laboratories and equipment should be provide for the programme.

7. The University should ensure that classroom furniture are properly maintained.

8. Standard (spacious) offices with ensuite toilets should be provided for professorial offices

9. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

10. The University should provide more access to available e-books and e-journals to internet and library website.

11. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 61.16%. It scored 18 (54.55%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (85.71%) in Staffing, 7 (25.93%) in Physical Facilities, 12 (66.67%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
