1. There was no philosophy for the B.Sc Computer Science programme in the handbook and the Self-Study form. 2. The tests and examinations seen did not cover 70% of the curriculum for the Computer Science programme as they were taken as a Computer Based test at the 100 level only. 3. The available marking scheme was not well developed as they were only developed for Computer Based tests (CBT) and not essay type tests and examinations. 4. The practical work manual seen did not cover the curriculum. 5. The actual teacher to student ratio 1:23 deviates from the NUC guidelines of 1:20. 6. The programme lacked some modern pedagogical tools like projectors and a virtual learning environment. 7. 50% of the non-teaching staff in the programme did not benefit from the staff development scheme. 8. There were no hardware, micro computer, and microprocessor training kits for the programme. 9. Books on Algorithms and complexity, digital logic and net-centric computing were not in good quality. 10. There was no evidence of international research and collaboration by staff and students of the programme.

1. The university should ensure it writes the philosophy of the programme in the handbook and Self-Study form for future accreditation. 2.The university should ensure that the tests and examinations cover at least 70% of the curriculum before seeking accreditation. 3. The university should ensure that marking schemes are not only developed for CBT but for essay type tests and examinations. 4. The university should ensure that the students are exposed to all the practicals necessary to produce a graduate of computer science. 5. The university should ensure that it adheres to NUC’s guidelines on teacher to student ratio of 1:20 for computing. 6. The university should ensure that modern pedagogical tools like projectors and a virtual learning environment are used in training it’s computer science students. 7. The university should ensure that all its non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development scheme. 8. The university should ensure that it provides hardware, micro computer, and microprocessor training kits for the programme. 9. The university should ensure that it provides good qauntity and quality books on Algorithms and complexity, digital logic and net-centric computing for the programme. 10. The university should ensure that its staff and students engage in international research and collaboration.

The total score for the programme is 77.73%. It scored 25 (75.76%) in Academic Matters, 32 (91.43%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
