1. Marking schemes contained block marking
2. Degree projects were not properly supervised
3. Practicals conducted for the programme lack scope and depth
4. The students lack a high level of hard and soft skills for the
programme
5. Laboratory equipment are insufficient for the programme
6. There is no adequate funding for the programme

 

1. Marking schemes should be properly graded with even distribution of
marks for each question
2. Students’ degree projects should be properly supervised
3. Practicals conducted should cover more depth and scope of the
curriculum
4. Students’ skills Acquisition for theoretical and practical
biochemistry should be improved on
5. Equipment such as PH meter, calorimeter, chromatographic columns
6. Adequate funding should be provided for the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 91.20%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
