REMEDIES

1. Practical works did not adequately cover the curriculum.

2. Interaction of the panel members and students of the programme indicates that course delivery and learning materials are inadequate.
3. Interaction of the panel members and students of the programme reveals that the students have not acquire adequate relevant hard and soft skills prescribed for their levels.
4. The proportion of teaching staff core to the programme provides for only 66.6% of the teaching staff need.
5. Academic staff offices are not equipped with air conditioner, fan, refrigerator and not furnished with file cabinet and bookshelves.
6. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in currency.
7. Funding is inadequate for the programme.
8. There is no evidence of research and collaboration in the programme.

 

1. he University should ensure that more practical works are done to adequately cover the curriculum.
2.The University should ensure that adequate learning and course delivery materials are provided for the programme.
3. The University should ensure that practical work conducted is of good quality and covers depth and scope of the curriculum.
4. The University should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75% of the teaching staff need.
5. Well equipped and furnished offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme.
6.More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.
7. The programme should be adequately funded.
8. The University should ensure that there is research and collaboration in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.30%. It scored 28 (84.85%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
