1. Staff/student ratio of 1:25 does not comply with the NUC requirement.

2. Staff mix by rank of 37:0:63 does not meet the NUC requirement.

3. Only 40% of academic staff has Phd degree.
4. Only 20% of academic staff benefited from staff development programme in the last 3 years.

5. No non teaching staff benefited from the staff development. programme in the past 3 years.

6. Academic staff offices are not well equipped with air conditionals and cabinets.
7. Physical library holdings are fairly adequate in number and coverage.

 

1. The University should ensure staff/student ratio complies with NUC requirement of 1:20
2. The University ensure the staff mix by 0f 20:35:45 complies with NUC requirement.
3. All academic staff should have the PhD degree.
4. All academic staff should benefit from the staff development programme.
5. All non teaching staff should benefit from the staff development programme.
6. Academic staff offices should be adequately furnished.
7. The University should procure more current books for the library.

 

The total score for the programme is 66.12%. It scored 27.5 (83.33%)  in Academic Matters, 13 (37.14%) in Staffing, 21.5 (79.63%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
