REMEDIES

1. A student Ikirigo Edianabai with Reg. No: FUO/21/BED/15184 did not
have o’level certificate in her file.

2. Some student degree projects are not well supervised as there are
typographical errors and poor citations of references.

3. External examiners’ report is not timely reported.

4. 26.7% of the academic staff are not core to subject area.

5. 45.5% of the academic staff and all the non-teaching staff have not
benefitted from the Staff Development Programme in the past three
years.

6. Classroom equipment are not well maintained, the fan and lighting
are not working. There is no smart board in any of the classroom.

7. Academic staff offices lack bookshelves.

8. The e-library is subscribed to only one data base for the programme.

9. Funding is inadequate forthe programme.

10. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that all student admitted to the
programme meets admission requirement in line with NUC guideline.

2. Students’ degree projects should be adequately supervised.

3. The University should ensure that external examiners’ report are
reported and submitted on time.

4. The University should ensure that the percentage of staff core to
subject area provides for at least 75% or more of the teaching staff
needs.

5. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from the Staff
Development Programme.

6. The University should ensure that classrooms are well maintained for
the programme.

7. Academic staff offices should be well furnished with bookshelves.

8. The University should subscribed to at least two relevant data base for
the programme.

9. The programme should be adequately funded.

10. The University should ensure that there is multidisciplinary approach
to research in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.20%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77.00%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
