REMEDIES

1) project grading system is poor, as scores were not awarded. this shows that project supervision is poor.

2) The student degree projects lacked proper supervision .

3) the offices of senior Lecturer and lecturer 1 & below were ill-equiped, no book shelfs, refrigerator

4) The External Examiner’s system existed but had surpassed the 3 years tenure stipulated in the BMAS without evidence of renewal

5) the university fell short on safety and environmental sanitation as the environment was very dirty and there was paucity of fire extinguishers

6) the physical books were of good quality, however, the books are inadequate in number as most of the books sighted were either a copy or two, thereby negating the stipulations of the BMAS, which states that 3 copies Minimum is required. e.g globalization of politics a copy, political parties , pressure group and public opinions in Nigeria (2 copies) etc

7) the library holdings were mostly not current

8) all computer systems sighted in the e-library were not engraved

9) no evidence of data base subscribed

10) the internet service was very poor as the network was weak and not campus wide

 

1) There is need to improve on project grading as well as supervision of project in order to enhance the quality of projects.

2) the university should ensure that students projects are properly supervised
3) the senior lecturers’ offices should be properly furnished in line with the standard stipulated by the BMAS as well as boost of morale.

4) the university should renew the external examiner’s contract in line with the BMAS

5)the university needs to pay more attention on sanitation and safety in line with the stipulation of the BMAS

6) the University needs to improve in the quantity of books to be procured.

7) the University needs to procure more current books

8) the university should endeavour to engrave all computer system as prove of ownership
9) the university needs to ensure that there is an active database and evidence be made available for avoidance of doubt.
10) there is need to subscribe to a potent network provider for seamless access to online materials.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.82%. It scored 27 (84.38%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 9 (56.25%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
