REMEDIES

1. There are no innovative courses in the curriculum.

2. 50% the non-academic staff have not benefited from the Staff Development Programme.

3. Laboratory and Classroom is inadequate in space.

4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.

5. The library subscribes to only one (1) active database.

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses in the curriculum without exceeding maximum credit load in line with BMAS.

2. The university should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

3. Adequate laboratory and classroom space should be provided for the programme.

4. Adequate space should be provided for all academic staff in the programme.

5. The University should ensure subscription to at least two (2) relevant databases for the programme.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.80%. It scored 26 (70.27%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.14%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
