1. Some core courses like PHY 101 General Physics II, PHY 103 General Physics III, Math 102 Elementary Maths Calculus and General Physics 104 General Physics IV, are Omitted from the Curriculum

2. Only 55% of staff are core to subject area.

3. Staff offices are inadequate in space, not well furnished with bookshelves, refrigerators and Professorial Staff Offices are without toilets.

4. Library holdings and currency of books and journals are inadequate in number.

5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The Curriculum should be in line with the Provision of the Benchmark Minimun Accreditation Standard

2. The University should ensure more Computer Education related Academic staff for the Programme.

3. The university should provide adequate and well-furnished office accommodation for the programme.

4. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

5. The University should provide adequate funding for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.34%. It scored 26 (83.87%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (81.82%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
