1. The curriculum for the programme was not fully covered as there was no provision for mandatory internship and the compulsory study of at least one foreign language such as French, German, Spanish and Mandarin.

2. There were no globes, maps, functional multimedia facilities, interactive boards as well as info-graphics in the resource room provided for the programme.

3. The lighting in some of the classes were poor and some of the ceiling fans were not functional.

4. Most of the offices lacked basic amenities like television sets, refrigerators, air conditioners, book shelves and toilet facilities.

5. The journals in the library’s physical holdings were limited in number.

 

1. The university should ensure that the curriculum for the programme is fully covered by introducing graded internships and the compulsory learning of at least one foreign language.

2. The university should ensure that globes, maps, functional multimedia facilities, interactive boards as well as info-graphics are provided in the resource room for the programme.

3. The university should ensure that the classrooms are well lit and that it repairs some of the non-functional ceiling fans.

4. The university should ensure that all its offices are equipped with basic amenities like TV sets, refrigerators, air conditioners, book shelves and toilet facilities.

5. The university should ensure that it provides a minimum of 3 copies each of relevant journals in the library’s physical holdings.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.24%. It scored 26 (78.79%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
