REMEDIES

1. Marking schemes are not well developed for FAQ 311 (fish Biology) for
2020/2021 academic session.

2. Soxhlet extractor, aquaria and microscopes are not available for the
laboratory.

3. Classroom/lecture theatre are not well maintained, there are broken
chairs and table.

4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space, senior lectures are
sharing offices.

5. Environment around the classroom are not tidy, fire extinguishers and
sand bucket are not available around the lecture halls.

6. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that marking schemes are well developed for all courses for the programme.

2. All basic laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme.

3. Classroom/lecture theatre should be well maintained for the programme.

4. Standard (spacious) academic staff offices should be provided for the
programme.

5. Environmental sanitation around the teaching area should be
improved upon.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.40%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.0%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
