REMEDIES

1. The curriculum contains no additional innovative courses.

2. There is no evidence of evaluation of the programme by the students.

3. 80% of Academic staff and all of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the staff development programme.

4. Academic staff offices are not well furnished with book shelves, filing cabinets and air conditioners.

5. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The university should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The University should institutionalize a system that will
enable students assess the adequacy of course contents,
learning materials, course delivery and physical facilities.

3. The university should ensure that all staff benefit from staff development programme.

4. Adequate number of well-furnished offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme.

5. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.47%. It scored 29 (87.88%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
