REMEDIES

1. Academic regulations exist in the students handbook but not well publicize.

2. The standard of tests and examinations do not cover the curriculum.

3. The University subscribes to only one database.

3. 36.4% of the academic staff do not have a PhD degree.

4. 36.4% of the academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme.

5. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.

6, . Internet Hotspots are only available within the library
complex.

7. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

8. There is no tracers system in place.

 

1. Academic regulations should be well publicized.

2. The University should ensure that standard of tests and examinations is improved upon and tests and examinations cover the curriculum.

3. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain PhD degree.

4. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

5. Standard (spacious) offices should be provided for the programme.

6. Internet Hotsopts should be extended to other parts of the
campus for ease of access to e-resources in the library.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

8. The University should ensure that a tracers system is put in place.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.40%. It scored 28 (87.50%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 14 (87.50%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
