1. Marking schemes are not well developed as scores were not allotted
to questions

2. Practical work conducted do not adequately cover the curriculum

3. 44.6% of the academic staff have not benefitted from staff
development programme.

4. Laboratory, Botanical Garden, and museum are inadequate in space.

5. Classrooms lacks projectors and public address system.

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that marking schemes are well developed
and marks properly allotted to questions.

2. The University should ensure that practical work conducted cover the
curriculum.

3. All academic staff should be encouraged to benefit from staff
development programme.

4. Standard and well spacious laboratory, museum and botanical garden
should be provided for the programme.

5. Standard and well-equipped classroom should be provided for the
programme.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 26 (89.66%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (75%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
