The staff mix by rank of 20:40:40 does not conform to the NUC minimum academic standard. There are not enough innovative courses in the curriculum. The panel observed that the programme uses multiple choice questions for higher levels. Laboratory space and equipment are slightly inadequate for the programme. Office space is inadequate as several senior staff are sharing offices.

The University should ensure compliance with the Commission’s guidelines on staff mix. More innovative courses should be added to the curriculum. The University should ensure that examinations at higher levels are based on essay questions. More laboratory space and equipment should be provided for the programme. More office space should be provided.

The total score for the programme is 90.40%. It scored 33 (89.19%) in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (100.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
B. APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION
Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of FULL accreditation status for the Programme
