REMEDIES

1. The Staff Mix by Rank is inconsistent with NUC guidelines.
2. Only 12 out of 19 academic staff benefited from staff development, which is 63%.
3. Non-Teaching staff in adequate.
4. Only 1 non-teaching staff benefited from the staff development for the past 3 years.
5. Funding is inadequate.
6. Research and Collaboration is available but not multidisciplinary approach.

 

1. The University should employ more Senior Lecturer and below.
2. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from staff development.
3. The University should employ more non-teaching staff.
4. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the staff development.
5. The University should improve on the funding of the programme.
6. The University should ensure research and collaborate with other institutions within and outside the country.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.60%. It scored 34 (92%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
