REMEDIES

1. There was no functional internal quality assurance system in place.

2. Staff mix by rank is consistent with NUC guidelines in only one category.
3. 32% of the academic staff teaching the program have not benefited from the staff development program.
4. 71% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from the staff development program
5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. There should be a functional internal quality assurance system in place, with evidence of minutes of meetings and decision-making documents relevant to the program.
2. Staff mix by rank should be consistent with NUC guidelines in all categories.
3. All academic staff teaching the program should be encouraged to benefit from the staff development program.
4. All non-teaching staff should be encouraged to benefit from the staff development program.
5. More funding is required to boost the program

 

The total score for the programme is 90.40%. It scored 35.5 (95.95%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 16.5 (91.67%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
