REMEDIES

1. Some Compulsory Course, such as CSC 310, Algorithms and Complexity Analysis, CSC 305, Structural Programming, CSC 404, Data Management II, CSC 441, Netcentric Computing, were omitted from the Curriculum.
2. Only two innovative course was introduced to the programme.
3. Two students admitted in the programme did not meet admission requirement, they are; Wilson Usen Usen; UIC5230J, hasd D7 in English Language and E8 in Chemistry, Owan Destiny Daniel, had F9 in English Language and D7 in Chemistry
4. The standard of examination is poor, as some questions lack clarity.
5. External Examiner exist, but the work done is not of good quality.
6. The staff mix by rank of 19:44:38 did not meet with the provision of the BMAS.
7. The software laboratory is fairly equipped.

8. The classroom furniture such as table and chairs, white boards are not well maintained.
9. The office accommodation is slightly inadequate and not well furnished.
10. The is no verifiable active subscriptions to relevant data bases.
11. Books in the physical library are relatively current.
12. Funding for the programme is fairly adequate

 

.The listed omitted programmes should be added to the curriculum.

2. The university should ensure that more innovative courses are introduced to the programme.
3. The University should ensure that all students admitted into the programme meet with the stipulated admission requirement in line with the BMAS
4. The examination questions should be improved upon to adequately cover the curriculum.
5. The University should engage a qualified and experienced external Examiner.
6. The University should ensure that the staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 is complied with.
7. The university should procure laboratory equipment such as state-of-the-art computers, routers, (wired) switches, oscilloscope, networking tool box and robust integrated development environment should be installed for the programme.
8. The university should ensure that class room furniture is well maintained.
9. A well-furnished academic staff offices with file cabinet and book shelves should be provided for the programme.
10. The university should ensure that it subscribe to relevant data bases.
11. More current books should be procured in the physical library.
12. More funds should be provided for the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 69%. It scored 18 (49%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 20 (74%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33%) in Funding, 2 (67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
