REMEDIES

1. The curriculum used by the department does not contain any innovative courses for the higher levels.

2. Degree Projects lack innovation in contemporary computing.

3. The computers in the Software laboratory need upgrading as they are Windows 7 operating systems (OS).

4. Some staff offices lack some basic facilities such as bookshelves and whiteboards.

5. Some relevant required books and journals are not adequate in the library.

6. Formal Memorandum of Understanding for Research and Collaboration is not available.

 

1. Innovative courses should be included in the curriculum for the higher levels.

2. The department should ensure that the Degree Projects are innovative in contemporary computing.

3. The computers in the software laboratory should be upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or 11.

4. Basic facilities such as bookshelves and whiteboards should be provided in the staff offices.

5. More books and journals in relevant areas such as object-oriented programming and Project management are required in the library for the programme.
6. The University is expected to engage with both local and international institutions in developing more formal collaborations.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.26%. It scored 29 (87.88%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
