1, The internal quality assurance mechanism is not effective. There is no evidence of minutes of meetings at the department
2. The non-teaching staff is inadequate in number
3. 58% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme
4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space, number and they are not furnished with bookshelves and filing cabinets.
5. Physical library books and journals do not have local content

 

1. The University should ensure that the internal quality assurance unit is effective to impact on the programme and the minutes of meetings are adequately documented
2. The University should ensure that there is adequate number of non-teaching staff for the programme
3.The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme
4. Adequate number of standard (spacious) and well-furnished offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme
5. The university should procure more local content for the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 91.60%. It scored 35 (94%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
