REMEDIES

1. Some student degree projects are not well supervised in terms of in
terms of typing, citation and referencing.

2. 33.3% of the academic staff and all the non-teaching staff have not
benefitted from Staff Development programme in the past three
years.

3. MATLAB software are not not install in the computer laboratory, there
is not digital trainer in the digital/hardware laboratory.

4. Some classroom lack whiteboards, there is no smartboards and
public address system in the classroom and lecture hall.

5. Academic staff offices are not well equipped with table, chairs and
bookshelves. Most academic staff are sharing offices.

6. Physical library books and journals are in adequate in number,
currency and coverage in the area of data communication, graphics
and networking.

7. The e-library is subscribed to only one active relevant database.

8. Internet connectivity to the e-resources is slow.

9. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that student degree project should are well
supervised.

2. The University should ensure that all staff benefitted from the Staff
Development Programme.

3. All basic laboratory equipment and software should be provided for
the programme.

4. The University should ensure that the classroom/lecture halls are well
equipped for the programme.

5. Standard and adequately furnished academic staff offices should be
provided for the programme.

6. More current books and journals should be procured for the
programme.

7. The University should subscribe to at least two relevant database for
the programme.

8. The University should ensure that internet connectivity is improved
upon.

9. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.60%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
