REMEDIES

1. 70% of Academic Staff and all the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the staff development programme in the last three years.

2. Essential laboratory equipment such as; Freezers, Refrigerators, Spectrophotometer and weighing balance.

3. Classrooms furniture are not well maintained. some whiteboards are worn out and electrical fittings are vandalized.

4. There is no evidence of research and collaboration in the programme.

5. Physical Library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

 

1. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from staff development programme.

2. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme.

3. Classrooms furnitures should be well maintained.

4. The University should ensure that there is research and collaboration by staff and students with institutions within and outside the country.

5. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 75.04%. It scored 25.7 (88.62%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (71.43%) in Staffing, 19.3 (71.48%) in Physical Facilities, 15.3 (85.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
