REMEDIES

1. Practical work conducted did not cover the curriculum in course content, due to obsolete equipment’s.
2. The course content learning materials, course delivery , physical facilities are not adequate.
3. Only 35% of the Teaching Staff benefitted from Staff development programme.
4. 100% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from the staff Development Programmes.
5. Recommended text and journals in the Library are not current.
6. 6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. Modern equipment should be procured such as: Digital Vernier caliper for the analog type.
2. The course delivery material need to be replacement for the Physics Education Programme.
3. The university should ensure that all Teaching Staff benefit from staff Development Programme.
4. The university should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from staff Development Programme.
5. The University should make sure that current text and journals are purchased.
6. 6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.34%. It scored 28 (84.85%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
