DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. There is block allocation of marks in Introduction to Materials Design, Production and Utilization.
2. All of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.
3. The Educational Technology studio does not have flip cam recorder, video editing and podcast equipment.
4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.
5. Physical library book and journal are inadequate in number and currency.
6. Funding is inadequate for the programme.
7. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration.

 

1. The University should discourage block allocation of marks to examination questions.
2. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.
3. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme in line with BMAS/CCMAS.
4. Standard academic staff offices should be provided for the programme.
5. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.
6. The programme should be adequately funded.
7. The University should ensure that there is a multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.97%. It scored 31 (93.94%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (85.71%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.672%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
