1. Curriculum is substantially covered.

2. The test and examination are of good standard but do not cover the curriculum.

3. Practical work conducted did not cover the curriculum.

4. Interaction between the panel members and students of the programme reveals the students have not acquired the relevant hard and soft skills expected of or prescribed for their levels.

5. The space in the existing laboratory is inadequate in size or meets 50% but less than 60% of the prescribed NUC Standards.

6. Office accommodation for academic staff is slightly inadequate in space.

7. Currents books and journals provided for the programme are not adequate in number.

8. The library subscription to e-books and e-journals is active to at least one (1) relevant data base in addition to open source for the programme.

9. Access to available e-books and e-journals for staff and student is available only to campus hotspots and intranet.

10. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is adequately covered.

2. The University should ensure that test and examination adequately cover the curriculum.

4. The University should ensure that the hard and soft skills acquisition relevant to the programme are impacted to students.

5. The University should ensure that laboratory space meets the provisions of the BMAS.

6. The University should provide more offices space for the academic staff.

7. The University should procure more current books and journals for the programme.

8. The University should subscribe to at least two (2) relevant database e-resources for the programme.

9. The University should provide more access to available e-books and e-journals to internet and library website.

10. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 76.00%. It scored 28 (75.68%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
