REMEDIES

1. The curriculum does not contain any innovative course.
2. Practical works did not adequately cover the curriculum.
3. External examiner’s system work is not of good standard.
4. 33.3% of the academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme.
5. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.
6. Internet connection in the e-library is slow.
7. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The university should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.
2. The University should ensure that the practical works adequately cover the curriculum.
3. The University should ensure that external examiner’s system work is of good standard.
4. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.
5. Standard offices should be provided for academic staff of the programme.
6. The University should increase band width in the e-library.
7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 82.52%. It scored 27 (77.14%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (85%) in Staffing, 23 (85%) in Physical Facilities, 14.5 (80.56%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
