1. Some students enrolled did not meet the admission requirements. 2. Academic regulations exist but no section on examination administration and examination malpractice was well publicized. 3. The Internal Quality assurance system exists but it’s not effective, there was no minutes of meetings just list of appointed staff 4. The staff mix by rank of 55.5:22.2:22.2 does not meet the BMAS requirement in any category. 5. 54% of the non-academic staff have not benefitted from the staff development programme. 6. There is no dark room and running water in the laboratory. 7. The Classrooms do not have teaching aids like flip charts, projectors and white boards 8. Academic staff offices are not well furnished with filing cabinets and bookshelves 9. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in currency, number and coverage. 10. The university subscribed to only one relevant database. 11. Internet hotspots are only available within the library complex 12. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The university should ensure that all student enrolled into the programme meet the admission requirements. 2. The University should ensure that academic regulations are clearly spelt out and well publicized to students. 3. The university should ensure that internal quality assurance system is effective and meetings should be held regularly. 4. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45. 5. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from the staff development programme. 6. The university should ensure there is running water in the laboratory and a dark room should also be provided. 7. The University should ensure all classrooms have teaching aids. 8. Standard and adequately furnished academic staff offices should be provided. 9. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme to cover all the core areas of the programme. 10. The university should subscribe to more databases like taylor and francis and springers. 11. The University should ensure that internet hotspots are extended to other parts of the campus for ease of access to e-resources in the library 12. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 82.56%. It scored 26.75 (86.29%) in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 19.5 (72.22%) in Physical Facilities, 12 (66.67%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
