REMEDIES

1. Staff mix by rank of 24.32:37.84:37.84 is consistent with the NUC guidelines in only one category.

2.40.54% of academic staff and 15.38% of non-academic staff have benefited from staff development.

3.Laboratory equipment inspected meets specifications to about 70% but less than 80%.

4.Classrooms equipment are slightly adequate.

5.Staff offices are not fully equipped.

6. Funding for the programme is adequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that staff mix by rank is consistent in all categories.

2. All staff should be encouraged to benefit from staff development programme.

3.The University should procure Munsel colour charts soil test kits, soil maps, incubators, Gunther chains and Microscopes.

4. The University should procure audio-visual equipment such as projectors, interactive boards and public address systems for all classrooms and lecture theaters.

5. All staff offices should be well equipped with functional air conditioners.

6. The University should ensure very adequate funding for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 87.20%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
