REMEDIES

1. Marking scheme not adequately developed and examination scripts is not consistent.
2. Some project topics did not aligned with the industrial chemistry programme.
3. The physical library holdings, textbooks and currencies are grossly inadequate.
4. Some Laboratory equipment such as; FTIR, GCMID were not functional, spectrometer software not installed and no showers in the Labs.
5. Funding for the progamme is inadequate.

 

1.Marking schemes should be well developed , have clarity and marks evenly distributed.
2.The University should ensure Project topics align with industrial chemistry to enable innovations and creativity.
3. More textbooks and currencies should be procured.

4.The University should ensure FTIR, GCMID be made functional, spectrometer software installed and showers provided in the Labs for the progamme.
5. The University should provide more fund for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 30 (81.08%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
