REMEDIES

1. There is evidence of bulk allocation of marks in the
marking schemes and completed laboratory manual.
2. Some degree projects were poorly supervised,
without proper endorsement.
3. Staff Offices, Laboratories, classrooms and Library
lack adequate Furnitures.
4. Recommended texts in the library are inadequate
in number and currency.
5. Funding is inadequate for the Programme

 

1. The University should discourage bulk allocation of
marks in the programme.
2. The University should ensure that all degree
projects are properly supervised.
3. The University should provide adequate furniture
for the staff offices, laboratories, classrooms and
laboratories.
4. More current texts should be provided for the
Programme.

The total score for the programme is 84.40%. It scored 31.5 (85.14%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 13.5 (75.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2.5 (83.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
