REMEDIES

1. The Curriculum is difficient of some core courses which the school
has made elective.
2. There is evidence of bulk allocation of marks in the marking
scheme.
3. Some sampled projects were poorly supervised.
4. 58% of the academic staff and 80% of non-academic staff did not
benefit from staff development programme in the last 3 years.
5. Staff offices lack some furnitures such as bookshelves, televisions
and refrigerators.
6. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should not take core courses as elective courses.
2. The University should discourage bulk allocation of marks in the
Programme.
3. The University should ensure that students projects are well
supervised.
4. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from staff
development programme.
5. The University should maintain a well-equipped staff offices.
6. The Programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.80%. It scored 31.5 (85.14%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
