1. There are omission of core courses to include: Polymer Chemistry, Atomic and Molecular Structure and Symmetric Intrumental Method of Analysis and Carbohydrate Chemistry in the Curriculum for the programme. 2. There is inadequate number of innovative courses in the curriculum for the programme. 3. Standard of tests and examinations do not cover the curriculum for the programme. 4. Practical works for the programme did not adequately cover the curriculum. 5. Only 28% of academic staff and 57% of non-teaching staff have benefitted from staff development programme. 6. The University should ensure that core courses to include: Polymer Chemistry, Atomic and Molecular Structure and Symmetric Intrumental Method of Analysis and Carbohydrate Chemistry are included in the curriculum for the programe. 2. There should be inclusion of four or more innovative courses in the curriculum for the programme. 3. The University should ensure that standard of tests and examination are adequately covered for the programme. 4. There should be adequate coverage on practical works for the programme. 5. The University should ensure that academic and non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme. 6. The University should provide adequate space on office accommodation for professorial cadre. 7. The University should provide adequate number of books in the physical library for the programme. 8. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 30 (81.08%) in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
