1. Fifty six percent (56%) of the academic staff were core to the programme.

2. The staff mix by rank ratio is 18.75:50.00:31.25 (19:50:31) which is not consistent with the NUC guideline.

3. About Sixty seven percent (66.67%) of the non academic staff did not benefit from the University’s staff development programme.

4. The internet facility is limited in coverage

5. The funding for the programme was relatively adequate but needs to be improved upon.

 

1. The university should ensure that the ratio of academic staff core to the programme is 75% or more according to the NUC guideline.

2. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of ratio 20:35:45 for professorial, Senior lecturers and lecturer I and below respectively.

3. The university should ensure that all the staff benefits from the University’s staff development programme.

4. The internet facility should be upgraded to have a wider coverage.

5. The University should ensure that funding for the programme is very adequate.

 

The total score for the programme is 92.00%. It scored 37 (100.00%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
