REMEDIES

1. There was no evidence of a functional internal quality assurance system.

2. 32% of the academic staff have not benefited from the staff development program.
3. 71% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from the staff development program.
4. Funding for the program is inadequate

 

1. The university should ensure an active and effective internal quality assurance system in the department.
2. All academic staff teaching the program must be encouraged to take part in the staff development program.
3. All non-teaching staff should be encouraged to actively participate in the staff development program.
4. The university should provide more funding to boost the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.40%. It scored 35.5 (95.95%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 16.5 (91.67%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
