1. Standard of tests and examinations do not cover the curriculum.
2. Staff mix of 62.5:9.5:28.5 does not meet the NUC guidelines in two categories.
3. 14.3% of academic staff do not have the Ph.D degree.
4. 43% of the academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
5. 50% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from staff development.
6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. Standard of tests and examinations should be made to cover the curriculum for the programme.
2. The University should ensure a staff mix that is consistent with NUC guidelines of 20:35:45
3. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain the Ph.D degree.
4. The University should ensure that all academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
5. The University should ensure that all the non-academic staff for the programme benefits from staff development programme.
6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 94.40%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 27 (100.00%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
