Credit load of 22 units 200L, second semester and 23 units 400L, second semester is too high for the students in the programme.
A compulsory course MTS 211(Linear Algebra) is listed as elective in the curriculum.
33% of the academic staff does not have PhD.
40% of the non-teaching Staff have not benefitted from staff development programme.
Toilet facilities are not adequate in number for staff and students
The University has subscription to one relevant database.
The internet connectivity is relatively slow

 

The University should ensure that the Department comply with the NUC BMAS.

The total score for the programme is 87%. It scored 28 (85%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 24 (89%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
