REMEDIES

1. The skills acquired by the students on the programme is not adequate
2. 33.3% of the academic staff have no Ph.D degree
3. 66.7% of the non academic staff have not benefited from the staff development programme
4. The programme lacks cataloging and classification laboratory
5. Office accommodation is inadequate in number as it was observed that two senior lecturers were sharing an office
6. Safety equipment; fire extinguisher and sand buckets are inadequate in number
7. International journals for the programme are not adequate in number

 

1. Students on the programme should be encouraged to acquire more hard and soft skills relevant to the programme
2. The University should ensure that all academic staff have the Ph.D degree
3. The University should ensure that all the non academic staff benefits from the staff development programme
4. The University should provide a dedicated cataloging and classification laboratory for the programme
5. Adequate office accommodation should be provided for the academic staff
6. Adequate number of safety equipment should be provided in strategic location
7. More current international journals should be sourced for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.1%. It scored 33 (94.3%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 22 (81.4%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.8%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.6%) in Funding, 2 (66.6%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
