REMEDIES

1.Core compulsory courses in Production Management and International Accounting are omitted from the curriculum at all levels

2. Practical conducted did not cover the depth and scope of the curriculum as students were not exposed to practical training in sage 50 accounting package.

3. 33.3% of the non-academic staff have not benefitted from staff development programme

4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space

5. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and coverage

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate

7. There is no evidence of students’ involvement in industrial training and other similar experiences

 

1. The curriculum should be reviewed to include all omitted courses in line with the provisions of the BMAS.

2.The University should ensure that practical conducted covers the depth and scope of the curriculum, and that students should be exposed to practical training in all recommended accounting software packages.

3. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff have benefitted from the staff development programme.

4. Standard (spacious) offices should be provided for the programme

5. More relevant books and journals should be procurred for the programme..

6. The programme should be adequately funded

7. The University should ensure that students are exposed to Industrial trainings and other similar experiences

 

The total score for the programme is 90.24%. It scored 31 (88.57%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.00%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
