DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. The Curriculum contains less than four innovative courses.
2. There is block allocation of marks to some sample question papers.
3. Internal Quality Assurance Mechanism and names of committee members at Departmental level exist, but there is evidence of minutes of meeting.
4. The ratio/proportion of teaching staff core the subject area provides for only 64% of the teaching staff need.
5. 50% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D degrees.
6.Furnitture items in classrooms are not well maintained as some of them are broken.
7. Some Management books are missing in the physical library.
8. The University subscribed to only one database.
9. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.
2. Block allocation of marks should be discouraged.
3. The University Should ensure that minutes of meetings are adequately documented and the Internal Quality Assurance Mechanism cuts across the Department, Faculty and University levels.
4. The University should ensure that the ratio/proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff need.
5. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D degrees.
6. Furniture items in classrooms and lecture theaters should be well maintained.
7. More copies of the relevant areas of management should be acquired, such as Strategic Management, Green Management, etc.
8. The University should subscribe to more databases.
9. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.09%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82%) in Staffing, 14 (87.50%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
