DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. 47% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D degree.
2. 36% of the academic staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme.
3. There is no darkroom in the demonstration laboratory and image processing room.
4. The X-ray demonstration room is not leadlined and it has windows.
5. Fire extinguishers and sand buckets are inadequate.
6. Physical library books are inadequate in number and coverage.
7. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D degrees.
2. The University should ensure that all academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.
3. Demonstration laboratory for the programme should be provided with a darkroom and image processing room.
4. The X-ray demonstration room should be leading and the windows should be blocked.
5.Fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be adequately provided for the programme and stationed in strategic places.
6. More books should be provided for the programme such as Radiation Biology, Radiation Protection and Ultrasound Books.
7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.12%. It scored 31 (93.94%)  in Academic Matters, 27 (77%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
