REMEDIES

1. Staff Mix is only consistent with NUC guidelines in only Professorial Cadre. It only favoured the Lecturers 1 and below cadre.

2. Two 2 out three (3) Non-teaching Staff (66.7%) benefited from Staff Development programme in the last 3 years.

3. There are more emphasis on Community Development aspect of the programme as against the other areas of specialization.

4. Funding of the programme is just adequate for the day-to day running of the programme

 

1. The University should ensure that Staff Mix is in line with the NUC guidelines of 20: 35: 45.

2. Every Staff should be given opportunities to undergo staff development programme to enhance their capabilities and efficiency.

3.The University should also consider other areas of specialization such as Literacy, Women Education, Industrial and Labour Studies, etc.
4. More funding should be provided for the programme to meet both the capital and recurrent expenditure.

 

The total score for the programme is 93.39%. It scored 30.5 (92.42%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91%) in Staffing, 25.5 (94.44%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
