1. The students’ final year projects were not well supervised.

2. There were no practical works for the period under review.

3. The students demonstrated average level of and hard and soft skills.

4. Sixty nine percent (69%) of the academic staff were core to the programme.

5. The staff mix by rank ratio of 43.75:37.50:18.75 is not consistent with the NUC guideline.

6. The non academic staff number was fairly adequate.

7. Only fifty percent (50%) of the academic staff benefitted from the University’s staff development programme.

8. The Computer laboratory was not in good state. Some equipment such as computer system was inadequate and in poor condition.

9. Library books such as Functional Analysis, Operational Research, Numerical Analysis and Real Analysis were not available for the programme.

10. Academic staff offices were furnished with outdated equipment.

11. There was no multi-disciplinary approach to research and collaboration for the programme.

12. Funding for the programme is grossly inadequate.

 

1. The students’ final year projects should be of good quality and well supervised.

2. The university should ensure that all required practical works in the curriculum for the programme are carried out.
3. The university should ensure that relevant hard and soft skills for the programme are evident in the students.

4. The university should ensure that the ratio of academic staff core to the programme is 75% or more according to the NUC guideline.

5. The University should ensure a staff mix by rank of ratio 20:35:45 for professorial, Senior lecturers and lecturer I and below respectively.

6. The University should endeavour to employ more non academic staff (especially the technical staff) for the programme.

7. The university should ensure that all the staff benefits from the University’s staff development programme.

8. The university should provide standard computer laboratory with adequate functional modern computers and other relevant equipment for the programme.

9. Identified and more adequate, relevant and current books should be procured for the programme.

10. The academic staff offices should be upgraded and renovated.
11. The university should ensure multi-disciplinary approach to research and collaboration for the programme.
12. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 78.80%. It scored 29 (78.38%)  in Academic Matters, 28.5 (81%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
