1. The students’ spoken and written English is fairly good, considering their varying levels.
2. The equipment and furniture in the classrooms are not well-maintained.
3. Lecturers do not teach using 21st-century skills.

4. Dictionaries on common errors are not available.

5. Funding for the program is inadequate.

 

1. There is a need for further drills on students’ pronunciation and writing skills.
2. The university should repair all broken chairs and faulty computer systems in the classrooms.
3. The university should encourage lecturers to apply 21st-century skills, such as PowerPoint presentations and multimedia, in their teaching.
4. The university should procure relevant books and dictionaries on common errors.

5. The university should ensure that the program is adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 91.74%. It scored 30.5 (92.42%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.00%) in Staffing, 23.5 (87.04%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
