REMEDIES

1. Academic regulations are not well publicized, as students are not
aware of academic regulations.

2. Marking Schemes are not well developed as grading pattern and
formats are not consistent.

3. 33.4% of the academic staff have not benefitted from staff
development programme.

4. Classroom lacks ceiling fans, smart boards, projectors, air conditionals
and public address system.

5.Staff offices are inadequate in space and lacks file cabinets, television
and air conditioners.

6. Slow internet connectivity impedes access to e-resources.

7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that academic regulations should be well
publicized to students at point of entry.

2. The University should ensure that marking schemes should be well
developed and grading system
should be consistent.

3. All academic staff should be encouraged to benefit from the staff
development programme.

4. Standard and well-equipped classroom should be provided for the
programme.

5. Standard and well-equipped staff offices should be provided for the
programme.

6. Internet connectivity should be improved upon.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.71%. It scored 25.5 (77.0%)  in Academic Matters, 33.0 (94.0%) in Staffing, 22.0 (81.0%) in Physical Facilities, 15.0 (83.3%) in Library. The programme scored 2.0 (66.7%) in Funding, 3.0 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and 0.00 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
