1. The university should add more innovative courses.
2. The University should endeavor to supervise students projects properly and ensure students and supervisors sign them accordingly.
3. The university should ensure students acquire more hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.
4. The university should engage more core academic staff relevant to the programme.
5. The university should ensure that staff mix by rank is consistent with NUC guidelines of 20:35:45.
6. The University should encourage all academic and non-academic staff to take advantage of its staff development programme, especially academic staff to acquire their PhDs.
7. The University should endevour to properly furnish staff offices especially professorial offices that lack conveniences.
8. The University should make available more fire extinguishers and sand buckets in all locations.
9. The university should increase the bandwidth for faster internet connectivity.
10. The University should allocate more funds to the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 68.81%. It scored 28 (87.50%)  in Academic Matters, 13 (37.14%) in Staffing, 12 (75.00%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
