The microscope in the Microbiology laboratories are few in number compared to the number of students in the Department. Poor sanitation was observed within and around the classrooms There were no fire extinguishers and sand buckets around the classrooms Some of the Microbiology textbooks in the main library are outdated published between 2005 and 2015 There is limited internet access in the Departmental e -library Only 64.7% of the non teaching staff benefitted from the staff development scheme in the last 3 years.

The University should procure moore microscopes for the Microbiology laboratories The class environment should be swept and kept clean Fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be strategically placed around the classroom area The University is advised to acquire new and current books in the Library The University should increase its bandwidth to ensure easy internet access for all.

The total score for the programme is 87.20%. It scored 36 (97.30%) in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of FULL accreditation status for the Programme
